DS first-ever Additive Manufacturing Symposium

Category: Conference/Workshop
Description:

Dassault Systèmes is pleased to host our first-ever Additive Manufacturing Symposium in conjunction with this year’s Science in the Age of Experience conference.

At this symposium, held Monday, May 15, additive manufacturing experts from around the world will share their vision about how they are adopting this truly disruptive manufacturing technology to innovate and shape the future. Hear discussions about the challenges they face in terms of process quality, certification, and the business decisions behind their adoption of additive manufacturing.

Read the full agenda, speaker list, abstracts and bios. Highlights include:

  • John Vickers, NASA – “NASA’s Additive Manufacturing Development Materials Science to Technology Infusion –  Connecting the Digital Dot”
  • Professor Jack Beuth, Carnegie Mellon University – “Designing the Additive Manufacturing Process”
  • Lyle Levine from NIST – “Additive Manufacturing of Metals: Finding and Slaying the Dragons”
  • Pieter Volgers, DuPont – “DuPont's Vision for the Thermoplastic AM landscape: Breaking Down Barriers for Innovative Concepts and Validation.”
  • Live software demonstrations from Dassault Systèmes and its partners on design, process simulation and material compliance
  • Sponsors include Stratasys, Renishaw, nTopology, Granta and Adaptive Corporation

In conjunction with the Additive Manufacturing Symposium, we will host an Additive Manufacturing Hackathon. The event will start in the afternoon session of the Symposium and end on May 17. Challenges will be design statements based on real-world problems proposed by industry experts. Each team will be assigned a dedicated Dassault Systèmes mentor.
