Abstract

This is the Master thesis from Xin Liu in Prof Yu’s research group. In this thesis, the Mechanics of Structure Genome (MSG) has be used to provide an alternative way to model composite beam-like structures. Basic concept of MSG is introduced as well as the idea of how to carry out multiscale modeling based on MSG. In order to integrate constitutive modeling and structural macroscopic analysis into a single package, several open source codes are modified and upgraded. Numerical cases show that the results using MSG by the software developed in this thesis agree well with 3D FEA results with much less computational cost.
