Dear All cdmHUB users, Purude cdmHUB team is responsible for developing the composites virtual factory HUB (cvfHUB) for IACMI (Institute of Advanced Composites Manufacturing Innovation). We are starting to hire multiple engineers for integrating and validating commercial composites software. Please see https://cdmhub.org/members/1582/blog/2015/06/iacmi-indiana-starts-hiring for more details. Interview will start soon. Please apply if you are interested or share with others who might be interested. cdmHUB.
Dear all cdmHUB users, We have recently upgraded cdmHUB.org to use the most recent version of HUBZero platform. Please explore the site and report any issues using the ticket system (support->tickets). Your participation in constantly making cdmHUB better is greatly appreciated. cdmHUB

The NAFEMS Composites Working Group wishes to commission a new document with the suggested title “How to Obtain Material Properties for Structural Analysis of Composites”. The book will be a companion volume to the existing NAFEMS publications “An introduction to the use of material models in FE”. The publication will form part of the existing “How to …” series of NAFEMS documents and is anticipated to be 60-100 pages in length.   Please see the invitation to tender at https://cdmhub.org/resources/704

On October 28, 2014 at the JEC AMERICAS Conference located in Boston the Composites Design and Manufacturing Hub (cdmHUB) of Purdue University was presented the JEC Innovation Award for academic achievement. Selection criteria for this award includes technical excellence, selection of partners, market potential, and originality. Details can be found in the Purdue news.

This message is regarding the maintenance window we announced on October 10th.

The maintenance window originally planned for this Friday, October 24th starting at 11PM Eastern time, has been pushed back to December 8th. The maintenance will begin at 9PM Eastern time. As previously stated, this maintenance window will unfortunately require that we take down cdmHUB entirely. We also are scheduling an additional maintenance window - this one will keep the website itself up, but will prevent the access of tools. This maintenance window is currently scheduled for December 13th and will begin at 1AM Eastern time.

We apologize for the confusion, and thank you for your patience while we improve the underlying infrastructure of cdmHUB!

On October 24, 2014, between 11PM Eastern time and through the following morning, we will be taking the cdmHUB website offline for some hardware maintenance. The site will not be reachable during this time - unfortunately due to the nature of the maintenance, we will be unable to place status updates on the site. During this downtime, backend hardware for the cdmHUB website is being upgraded for increased performance and security. We appreciate your patience while we perform these upgrades!

As the importance of micromechanics is increasingly realized in composites design & manufacturing at the industry level, cdmHUB is launching a Micromechanics Simulation Challenge for the purpose of establishing the best practices for homogenization and dehomogenization needed for composites design and manufacturing. The Micromechanics Simulation Challenge consists of three levels with increasing complexities, each with benchmark-type problems to access the strengths and trade-offs of existing micromechanics codes. We are currently defining level 1 problems and soliciting comments from micromechanics tool developers and other interested parties. Any inputs from cdmHUB users will be greatly appreciated. More details can be found at: https://cdmhub.org/members/1582/blog/2014/09/micromechanics-challenge

Thanks a lot in advance for your feedback!
