Installing VABS on ANSYS

Hello

I tried to install VABS on the ANSYS 17.2, I followed all the instructions for installing that from ANSYS VABS guide file. However, during opening the ANSYS APDL I encountered this  error.

"ANSYS has encountered a problem with menulist.ans. possible causes:menulist.ans does not exist or the contents of this file are incorrect.

check the menulist.ans file for one of these conditions befor executing ANSYS again. the error file (jobname.err) should also be checked for additional diagnostic information".

    Hello,

    Could you please try to delete the version number ### in the file name of menulist and load the GUI in ANSYS again? ANSYS versions beyond 17 have a slightly different way to make the menulist file.

    Please do let me know if the above does not solve the issue.

      I changed the file name to "menulist" however it did not work and the same error still exists.

        Please ask this question inside Prof. Yu's group instead at https://cdmhub.org/groups/yugroup/forum to get quick response. And it is usually better to also provide the screen shot of the error message for us to debug.

        I see. So the whole name (plus extension) for the file is menulist.ans now?
