Element strain calculation from the GEBT output file.
Is the no. of divisions options for each member in GEBT similar to an FEM division. Also is the displacement and force outputs referred to a key point defined or to an element in the member. Lastly, how to obtain the strain for an element, Is the interpolation linear.

Hello Vinay,
"Is the no. of divisions options for each member in GEBT similar to an FEM division."
- Yes.
"Is the displacement and force outputs referred to a key point defined or to an element in the member."
- Both of them can be found in the output file. Results of key points are listed first with the label "Point #", followed by results of elements in each member with the label "Member #".
"How to obtain the strain for an element, Is the interpolation linear."
- Strains of an element can be recovered using the constitutive relation (compliance matrix multiplies vector of forces and moments). All quantities are constant functions for each element in GEBT.

Sir,
I downloaded the gebt files and tried to compile it. But I'm not finding the "gebt executable" in the downloaded folder. I have already generated the MA28.dll as given by the installation manual.
Regards,
Vinay

Hello Vinay,
The installation should work fine following the instruction. The final executable 'gebt.exe' should be in the folder 'bin' if nothing is changed in the Makefile.
