Biography
Danilo C. Branco was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He received both his B.S. (2012) and M.S. (2016) degrees in Aeronautical Engineering from Aeronautical Institute of Technology – ITA, Brazil. During his undergrad, he worked with fighter aircraft mission identification for fatigue purposes. His M.S. studies focused on the development of a computer tool for the structural health monitoring of the F-5 fighter aircraft.
After concluding his B.S. degree, Danilo worked for Brazilian Air Force for four years. He was involved with military aircraft certification as the chief of the structural certification team. His tasks included the certification of the EMBRAER cargo plane KC-390, the modernization of the A-1M fighter and the certification of the Eurocopter EC-725 helicopter version for the Brazilian Air Force.
In the Fall of 2016, Danilo joined the Purdue School of Aeronautics and Astronautics as a PhD student. Danilo's research interests include fatigue crack growth modeling; microstructural behaviour under loading modeling; aircraft structural health monitoring
