Dehomogenization using swiftcomp

  1. Imad Hanhan

    Hi Xin,

Thanks for looking it over. In the second file I sent, I switched the 6th column with the 4th column of my C matrix since you mentioned that s12 and s23 are switched between how Abaqus and SwiftComp define the material properties. I double and tripled checked the material properties in Abaqus (attached) and can't find my mistake.

I don't understand what is printed at the bottom of the .sc file. It looks like maybe half of a symmetric matrix? but the order doesn't make sense to me.

If you have a suggestion for what could be wrong in my material properties assignment, I'd be happy to try it.

    Thanks,
    Imad

    Hi Imad,

When you check your material properties in Abaqus, you need to understand the definition used in Abaqus. Abaqus document would be a good reference. For example, in your attached file, D1212 and D2323 are zeros which are not right. D1212 is corresponding to C66 and D2323 is corresponding to C44 in the stiffness matrix, and they are all diagonal terms and should not be zeros.
