Hello everyone, I am Rajan Jain. I'm from Pune, India and am currently pursuing Professional MS in AAE (majoring in Structures and Materials and minoring in Systems). I have a bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering from Vellore Institute of Technology, India.
My current aim is to understand the nuances of advanced composite material characterization and manufacturing. I am inclined to start a business in my home country which focuses on rapid prototyping and manufacturing of composite materials for aerospace applications. I have undertaken systems as my minor in order to understand how different systems interact with each other in different scenarios and how can the manufacturing process be made more efficient. (I would also like to apply the learning from this course in a side-project I am working on, which is a star-tracker for astrophotography)
Besides aerospace engineering, my other hobbies and interests include observational astronomy, astrophotography, reading about Atomic Physics. I did a summer project at Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, India in the Department of Atomic and Molecular Physics. I designed and assembled a mixing chamber which could contain a mixture of multiple gases based on their partial pressures. It was then used in an experiment which involved spectral imaging of a supersonic gas jet in a vacuum chamber, illuminated by a tera-watt ultra-short laser.
I also love to cook, sketch and play the piano in my free time.
