Vision/Mission/Values of Purdue Multiscale Structural Mechanics Group

    Dear All,

    We are in the process to draft a vision/mission/values statement for my research group. The following is a first draft. Your comments are greatly appreciated. 

    Group Name: Multiscale Structural Mechanics

    Our vision: Design, manufacture, and certify advanced materials and structures by analysis.

    Our mission: To advance predictive capabilities for advanced structures and materials and to train students with analysis fundamentals and job-ready skills.

    Our professional values:

    1. We pursue truth because truth can set us free.
    2. We seek unity to systematically  handle diversities.
    3. We strike for balance between practicality and rigor.
    4. We embrace humble boldness to learn from others and remain true to scholarship.

    I would like to post here the link of Purdue CCO for those who are seeking for academic or industry job positions. There are several tips to write and personalize your CV/Resume based on the job position that you are looking for. Furthermore, there is advice about how to prepare yourself for a job interview and negotiate your salary/job conditions, or how you can handle the job hunting as international student. You can arrange a personal meeting with CCO so that they can provide you personalized advice. In addition, they can come to our department/research group and provide us a presentation based on needs. The only requirement for that is that we should be at least 10 students. Please, let me know if someone is interested in the presentation and we can try to arrange that for our research group.
