This is the class group for AAE 555: Mechanics of Composite Materials, being taught Spring 2015 at Purdue University and through Engineering Professional Education.  The course will cover the following: Introduction to composite materials and manufacturing principles Anisotropic elasticity Analysis of composite lamina Micromechanical property estimates Laminated plate theory, including thermal stresses Strength theories Free-edge stresses Open-hole strength Unusual bending-twisting characteristics of laminates
