• Biography

  Originally from the Chicagoland area, I studied mechanical engineering at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, IN. While at Rose-Hulman, I was very involved with the Human Powered Vehicle Team, which was my first exposure to composite materials.
  

  After graduation in 2011, I started working as a design engineer at Bastian Automation Engineering, located just east of Indianapolis, in Greenfield, IN. My company designs and builds custom automated solutions for the material handling industry. As a design engineer, I take each project from the conceptual phase to a final design that is released to manufacturing and ensure that the end product functions as needed. Although we do not directly deal with the design of composite materials, my last two large projects have involved the handling and automated storage and retrieval of large molds for composite structural members of aircraft for a couple of different aerospace companies.
  

  I am currently an online student pursuing my master’s in Mechanical Engineering through Purdue while I continue to work as a design engineer.
