My name is Alex VanWerden. I received my Bachelor's degree in Aerospace engineering from the University of Michigan. I graduated in 2013 and started working as a stress analyst for GE Aviation located in Baltimore, MD. I currently work for General Atomics in San Diego, California. I work as a stress analyst for a variety of aircraft, but mostly the various predator drones. I am very interested in this class because I work with composites on a day to day basis. I am looking forward to learning more about composite design and analysis and relating it back to real-world problems in the aerospace industry.
