Shane Paulson is a PhD student in the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics under Dr. Wayne Chen, and is currently studying the dynamic response of polymer-bonded explosives. Shane received his B.S. and M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Tennessee Technological University with a specialization in structural mechanics. His M.S. thesis was a study on Fickian moisture diffusion in composite sandwich structures under varied environmental conditions. After receiving his M.S., Shane worked for three years as a project engineer for Carpenter Wright Engineers in Nashville, TN and Lynch, Harrison, and Brumleve in Indianapolis, IN before choosing to join Purdue University to pursue his PhD.
