Random Fiber/Matrix Model Generator

Abstract
A tool for the creation of 2D fiber/matrix models that have a random arrangement of fibers. It can create a random representative volume element of a fiber/matrix microstructure that has both a periodic mesh and geometry, allowing convenient application of periodic boundary conditions in a finite element analysis. It can also create models for larger sections of a fiber/matrix composite that may only be periodic in one direction or not at all, such as a microscale model of a section of a lamina or the entire cross-section of a tow from a textile composite.
