Abstract

This code is a user subroutine written in FORTRAN that can be implemented in the commercial finite element software ABAQUS (version 6.14) to model the constitutive behavior of knitted fiber reinforced rubbers. Currently, this code can be used to simulate the anisotropic hyperelastic response of a rubber sheet reinforced by knitted fibers, as schematically shown in Figure 1.The code shows a significant computational advantage since the composite is homogenized as a 3D anisotropic hyperelastic solid. Thus, it can be incorporated into large-scale CAE models for finite element analysis.
