Dear Colleagues,
Please tell how to make a model to determine the homogeneous properties of a laminated pipe to compare with published data. I tried to follow the iVABS example ex_tube, but without success: nothing even close to the results presented in the article.
Publication: (PDF) Homogenization and Stress Analysis of Multilayered Composite Offshore Production Risers (www.researchgate.net/publication/258567273)
Geometry (Table 2):
Model A1; Layup [30/-30]; Inner radius=48 mm, Outer radius=50 mm (Layer thickness=1 mm)
Material (boron/epoxy) properties:
E1=33.30 msi; E2=E3=3.30 msi; nu23=0.32; nu12=nu13=0.26; G23=0.50 msi; G12=G13=0.80 msi
Results (Table 3):
Er=23.557 GPa; Et=17.524 GPa; Ez=71.649 GPa
Gtz=46.776 GPa; Grz=4.798 GPa; Grt=3.805 GPa
NUtz=0.343; NUrz=-0.041; NUrt=0.291
