  Yunlan Zhang received her bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering in 2012 from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. In 2014, she earned a master's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on structural engineering from Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana. She is currently continuing to work towards her Ph.D. in Civil Engineering materials at Purdue University. Her research focuses on the application of geometric and mechanical characteristics of natural organisms to the engineering field.
