Abstract
In cooperation with academia, industry and commercial software providers, the Composites Design and Manufacturing HUB is pleased to announce the Micromechanics Simulation Challenge. The problems in Level 1 of the simulation challenge are attached. Additionally, stp and iges files of the complex microstructure geometries considered in Case 5 and Case 6 of the challenge are attached.
We propose two options for executing the simulation challenge. For those who wish to execute the simulation challenge internally, we ask that results be submitted to Johnathan Goodsell, jgoodsel@purdue.edu, by May 15, 2015. For those who prefer for a member of the cdmHUB team to execute the challenge, we will provide the results for your review by April 15, 2015 and ask that you return them by May 15, 2015.
Results and comparisons will be made available on www.cdmHUB.org and may be presented at conferences and published in journals to maximize the impact of the simulation challenge on the industry.
Please respond to jgoodsel@purdue.edu with your willingness to participate and indicate whether you'd prefer to execute the simulation challenge internally or to have a member of the cdmHUB team execute the challenge, subject to your review.
